White Hankie Movie.

God's Not Dead

Noah has been on my list ever since it came out even though I understand it really did not give a biblical view of the flood, or why God destroyed a whole race except Noah and his family.    Really I have not heard much on it either and I am sure a few of my friends have went to see.

But, all my friends have been talking about,
    God's Not Dead".
Finally today I got to see it and it was worth every penny we paid too including the price of popcorn and a diet coke.   I usually have low expectation concerning Christian movies so I was in for a surprise.
Of all the Christian movies I have seen, old and new ones they never felt the way this one did.   I felt like I had went to church for one hour and thirteen minute  listening to  this young college student proved God is not dead and listening to the music at the end.

By the end I was wishing I had my white hankie so I could wave it in the air and shout, Amen, Amen and Amen.  I pray God give me the boldness the young freshmen college student had.  I was challenged to look around me more often and look for opportunities to share, God's Not Dead.

One way we can know if God is real is His spirit in me will testify to His spirit in someone else or a situation.  God paid me a visit in that dark movie house through the message given in the movie.  This was no act of the devil,  I am sure he is doing all he can to stop this movie from spreading.   A person would have to be dead themselves to not be encouraged by the truth presented in this movie.

Have you seen it, what was your conclusion?

  1. I haven't seen it, Betty, but I've heard great things about it. I've got to check it out...

How refreshing, though, to think of a college student spreading the Good News that God is alive! And He is offering everybody LIFE!

Yes, let's look for more chances to witness for Him!

    GOD BLESS!

  2. My friends have been talking about it, too. Well, now I will check the listings at our local theater, I hope it is still playing!

  3. Have not seen it but several from the church have. I will see it when it comes to our local theater where tickets are $5 and popcorn and pop don't cost an arm and a leg.

  5. Hi Betty,

I've been wanting to see this movie too! Thank you. I'll have to go.

Re your comment on my post "What Captain America and Superman Knew But We're Still Learning," yes, Betty, me too! Being able to share on transformative truth from God's word, and getting to speak to women is so exciting and joy-filled. May he arrange some more dates for you to do that as well. It is such a joy to do, huh?

    Thanks.

  8. Bill, we always wait till what ever we want to see comes to the cheap place. Honest if I would have known this was so good, I would have payed more to see it, just left out the popcorn and coke. The movie will charge your heart.

  10. Jennifer, I think this movie will encourage you a lot. I think it hit most areas of the Christian walk we all struggle with and brings a strong challenge to make sure our foundation is strong so we can give an answer to the hope that lives within us.

  11. That's another movie I want to see--I can't seem to make it to movies these days! When you said "white hankie movie," I thought you meant it was a tearjerker. I definitely don't like to see movies that make me cry until I can watch them at home, but it sounds like this one isn't a tearjerker?

  12. No, its not a tear jerker except maybe tears of joy over hearing the Word of God being presented in such a truthful way. Waving the white hankie is a southern term little old ladies will do in church when something is so good. A way to express joy...like a shout of amen. Well I give this movie five amen's. Thanks for the comment Stephanie.

I went to see this movie and totally loved it. It was so encouraging to see a move about God in the public theater.

    Blessings,

  14. Child of God, it was encouraging movie, also a motivating one. I wanted to ask those sitting around me how many times were wanting to shout, amen, amen, amen. Now I am kicking myself for not saying something. Glad you go to see it.

  17. I'll have to look up this God is not Dead movie. It's not been advertised over here in the UK so thanks for the heads up on it Betty. I've not seen the Noah film. I wasn't sure whether to watch it, I've heard such mixed reviews from my friends and from film critics too.

  23. Well honestly I haven't seen the movie and since I rarely watch full length movies I doubt that I will. If I do watch it I'll just approach it as another piece of fiction.

  24. Betty,
Thank you for reminding me that I wanted to see the movie...just need a free weekend...Glad it encouraged you :)

  25. Caleb, I admit I was a little skeptical about the movie because most of them turn to be just as you described. As I said, I never recommend movies because everyone taste is different. But this one...this one might convict because of the clarity it gives on what the Bible says on who God is, who man is, what sin is.

  26. Dolly, hope you get some extra time to see, I think you will be encouraged.

  27. I'll have to check it out. I haven't even heard of it? I must be living under a rock!

  28. Floyd, hope your little break from a good one. My Ace is not a movie man, he only goes to please me. But this one he enjoyed and thought they did a good job portraying the Bible. It's about a young college student defending his belief that God is not dead. As I said, I felt like I had went to church.

  30. I had the same reaction you did...I felt like I had been in a church service. I cried and cried thinking of how very courageous this dear, young man was to stand firm for his convictions and the truth. Oh, for more young people like this! May God help us all to stand up for Jesus and the old, rugged cross! I hope this incites a huge revolution among those who see it to be unashamed about their faith in the one, true God.

  31. Cheryl, wow you are the first one that has commented that has seen the movie. If the ladies in my bible study had not talked about it a lot I probably would not have went either. They went as a group while I was gone. All they said it was, it was. Like you I am praying for all our young people to have this kind of boldness and for myself too. Thanks for your comment.

  32. Well Betty I found you.. I am so glad I did.. I am so thrilled when I find other believers who are not ashamed to share their faith! Yes, God is not Dead was great! I too, wanted to wave the White Flag! Everyone in the theater here applauded.. it was wonderful to hear the clapping for truth! It is a challenging and motivating movie. I too, want my faith to be seen.. We are coming to days that I believe as believers and followers of Christ we will or we must stand for truth! By the way, love your life verse.. that is a challenging one too! Have a great day. I am following you on facebook and in google.. COme on over and follow along with me too. I so want to continue visiting with you.. Blessings My Sister!

  33. Patty, you understand why I was so moved by the movie. We just came from an event in a park near us. A friend of ours is teaching bible chronologically to anyone who will listen. He has great boldness for the Lord, kind of reminds me of the young college student in the movie. I am one of your new followers too. Bless you my sister.

  34. I haven't seen it myself, but again, like most all the commenters, all seem to love it so I reckon I'll have to put it on the "to view later" list - it has already been here and is long gone.

  35. Rick, it's rare that a movie especially one about God turns out to be something worth seeing. HOpe all is well with you brother.

  36. I still haven't seen this yet. I don't know if it's even playing around me at this point, but maybe I can get it on DVD soon because I do want to watch it. Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm about it; it's contagious! :)

  37. Lisa, I want to get it too when it comes out on DVD. It's so good to see a movie that uplifts God in all the truth of the Bible. Refreshing and encouraging. Blessings my blog friend.

  38. Betty, I haven't seen the movie either. My wife and I have been wanting to see it and we can't wait until we can. I know it has a deep routed message for us all, and a message I want to share. Thank you for this post.

  39. Lincoln, I do hope you get to see it. It will encourage your heart to keep doing what you are doing. This old world needs men like you who know how to do business with the King first before they do business in the world.
