Heaven...

Heaven, does it sound like a place you would like to go??  Living in an age where information on any subject can be had with just the click of a button,  I wonder how this information  above affects you?

For me,  when I read this.  it took out some of mystery of heaven and also took away some of my fears of the transition from earth to heaven.

I love the part of Angels taking me to heaven, I don't have to go alone.  To be in the presence of God is to know I will be loved on for He loves me unconditionally.  And to worship with angels and other believers will be like going to church which I love.  And I am sure the music will be the best.

To know I will not be in some sort of state where I will not know anything is also comforting.  I love knowing I will have my wit about me as I view my new home.  My senses will be under my control.

My memory will be in there and my voice will be available as I meet and greet other believers.   Yet I will still have some degree of knowledge of what is happening on earth.

Tonight I watched a movie on aliens from somewhere.  It was scary, uncomfortable and did not make me want to ever meet with someone from outer space.   Such a different feeling reading a small peek into heaven from Gods Word.  It became less fearful and more comfortable to think about.

How about you, does this kind of information help you as you think about your time to leave this earth and arrive on heavens shores?

  1. I am greatly looking forward to heaven. It seems as though every day more and more people we know and love are entering heaven's gates, and it is comforting to know they will be there to greet me when it is my turn. I love to think of those who have gone on before as being very actively "employed" in God's kingdom, doing whatever He has given them to do with so much joy and gladness. I look forward to meeting Jesus face to face, and then to see my loved ones who have gone on before...my son, my parents, and so many many more that I love and many I've never met but who are my ancestors who surely must know me! Yes, to be there with the angels, and singing and praising Jesus, the Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world...yes, that is what I look forward to the most. Praise God! This world is not my final home, I am just passing through!!

  2. All I can say is I'm looking forward to heaven. People can speculate all they want, but I honestly believe any speculation will fall short of the true majesty of it all.

    1. I so agree brother. I am reading Ted Dekker books on heaven and my goodness can this man paint a picture with his words. In fact the first book ended with a statement that is going to be my next blog post. He said, "we all Jobs, and like Job God has taken up the challenge of saten to work on getting us to deny Him. Which is why we feel the battle down here. To understand God battles over me daily is a comfort, for He is the captain of my soul.

  3. This is all so comforting, Betty. None of need to fear dying, but know it's simply the next chapter in our lives.
    Blessings!

    1. I know Martha, I have read it every day because of the comfort it brings. I have felt a fear of the transition coming leave my mind. For now it's gone and I am sure the enemy of my soul hates it.

  4. Sometimes we need what we already know to be printed out in black and white and put right in front of us. Thank you so much for sharing God's promises with us about our futures.

I leave here blessed and joyful ...

    1. You are so right Linda, exactly the affect this black and white spoke so deeply to me. With out the fear of the transition I can more freely live for today and serve Him more fully.

    1. I am ready to go too but not ready to leave for I think the Lord has more for me to do here on earth. And that is a comfort also as we struggle with so many things here. Those struggles are stepping stones to know Him more fully and to be a light to others. I have started a weekly bible study because I cannot not do it. God has been working on my heart for a while. I am new to this area but have made a few connections so right now there are 5 women coming every Thursday morning. Every week I think, now why did I do that, it is easier to just drift along. As we study through Hebrew we see God reminding us to take heed, pay attention, heads up on every verse. God has been reminding me how I needed to teach again, I needed the Word to keep me from drifting into doing nothing with the light that lives within me. I share this with you Hazel for you are a teacher of the Word. You bless me everytime you comment on my post.

  6. "I can only imagine
    What it will be like
When I walk by Your Side

    I can only imagine.
    What my eyes would see
When Your Face is before me
    I can only imagine
    I can only imagine, yeah.

    Surrounded by Your Glory
    What will my heart feel?
Will I dance for You, Jesus?
Or in awe of You be still?
Will I stand in Your Presence?
To my knees will I fall?
    Will I sing hallelujah?
Will I be able to speak at all?

    I can only imagine
    I can only imagine

    I can only imagine
    When that day comes
    And I find myself
    Standing in The Son
    I can only imagine
    When all I will do
    Is forever, forever worship You"

Oh, I so look forward to that day!

  7. I think Heaven sounds sweeter all the time, as I look around at this vile, evil, corrupt world. I want Jesus to come and take us all at once so we never have to say good-bye to our loved ones.

    1. It is sounding sweeter. My heart is sad a lot because I cannot change many of the things I see happening. Prayer is the only answer to quiet my heart and my faith in someday this will all end and we will be in heaven.

  8. Heaven is going to be more wonderful than we can imagine, all because of the love of our Creator, Savior, King of Kings, Jesus. A great book to read is 'Heaven' by Randy Alcorn.

  9. I have never read that book but I may have to for I am on a heaven kick as I call it. I am longing for home. But I don't want to leave either unless I can take those I love with me. Most of my close family are saved but I do have a couple who are not...
