Have you ever had a verse leap off the pages of the Bible and imprint on your heart and mind? A verse that will stay with you for the rest of your life, that you can build your life on.
I Corinthian 2:2 I am determined to know nothing except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
When I read this verse God planted it deep in my heart as a foundation for my life. It fills me with joy every time I hear that verse or see it written.
Job 26:7 He stretches the north and hangs the earth on nothing
Another verse that brings joy and peace to my life. What a verse to build one's trust in God on. The trials in my life became easier to bear knowing that God who hangs the earth on nothing lives inside of me.
John 4:19 We love because He first loved us.
I love this short verse that packs a truth that is bigger than the world. His love lives inside of us and nothing can separate us from His love. Just knowing the God of the universe loves me unconditionally and He will never stop loving me even when I sin gives me strength to walk this earth in my frailness.
The Word of God is alive and gives us a touch of heaven when we read and believe. The power of the Holy Spirit inside us will leap with joy overflowing when we put our trust in God. He is our source of a touch of heaven in this world. He makes possible that leap of faith when we believe the Word. His love for me keeps me upright. I can always fall back on His love for me when I don't love myself or if I don't feel love from someone. His love helps me navigate through the chaos in this world.
What touch of heaven have you found in the Bible, how has it impacted your life here on earth?
One verse that you've mentioned here, Betty, that speaks volumes to me is John 4:19. We can only love because God's love is eternal and lives within us. So simple and so profound. Blessings to you!
ReplyDeleteI am sure you understand this, without knowing the unconditional love of God for me I would not even seek to love some people. I tend to think others are a worst sinner than me because I look at them through my grid. Taking care of my abusive dad for almost four years taught me more about human love and divine love. I could have let him rot in the nursing home but God had other plans that would end with Dad getting saved the night before he died and for my understanding of the frailness of human love. Understand comes in waves as life goes on and each wave usually involves a lesson in His love for His human creation. I was saved in a strict Independant Baptist Church and one did not talk about the Holy Spirit much because you did not want anyone to think you were Pentacostal. When we went into the missionary training and they were big not on doing but on our walk with God. Without the Holy Spirit there would be no walk with God. Those touches of heaven here are earth are only possible through the Holy Spirit. Thank you Martha for commenting on my post, you always encourage me.
ReplyDeleteWhat an inspiring post. I cannot think of any one particular Scripture verse but I do my best to live in the moment, to appreciate everything God has given me and I am not just speaking material things. Good health...yes, I do have some health issues but I try to focus on the positive. I am 68 and I am grateful 🙏 for each day and try to treat each day as it could be my last. This may sound negative but for myself it isn't because only God knows which day will be our last. I try to watch how I interact with others and be kind 😇 in both word and deed.
ReplyDeleteI would like to thank 😊 🙏 you so much for your visit and kind comment on my blog today. I really appreciate the time you took to do this. It means so much to me.

Thank you so much, Wise Hearted, for this inspiring post and for your lovely comment at "Saved by Grace." Phil. 4:13, John 15:5 and Matt. 19:26 all remind me that without God, we can do nothing, but with Him, all things are possible! May God bless you and yours, Laurie
ReplyDeleteI am just stopping by to let you know that I am thinking of you. God bless you!
