When life gets stressful where does your mind go?
Do you have a happy place you can think about that will bring calm and order?
I have learned in the last five years to allow my mind to go to my happy place. It took a little effort to find my happy place which is the Garden Tomb in Isreal. I tried other beautiful place we have been, but I had a hard time keeping my mind on them. In searching for a happy place, I learned a lesson God wants me to walk in daily.
The truth was that a mind focused on me or others would not bring me the peace I needed. It's only when my mind is focus on Him.
Below are some scriptures which backs up this truth.
- There is a bus depot just outside the Garden Tomb, but you do not hear the buses coming and going while you are in the garden. For hours my husband and I had walked all around the old city walls then inside the city walls we walked even more, saw where every religion said Jesus was buried here and here and here. All those places were filled with noise and did not bring peace to our hearts. They did not align with scripture either.
- But the Garden Tomb was a little touch of heaven in a loud busy world. As I sit wishing I could sit forever on the ledge I knew in my heart that was not what God wanted us to do. My husband and I were needed to be that touch of heaven wherever God places us. We needed to live the gospel outside the Garden Tomb.
- That Happy Place lives in my heart and soul and I can visit that place any time.
- Peace resides in me because of what is written on the door of the tomb.
- He is not here, He is risen.
"We needed to live the Gospel outside the Garden Tomb." Oh, Betty, but what a touchstone the Lord has given you to be able to do just that! May you always treasure this memory that inspires you to move forward and spread the good news with others who are perishing. Blessings and Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI do treasure the memory. That was the first time we went to Isreal. My husband worked for Trans World Airlines so our flight over there was almost free, plus certain hotels gave a discount because of the airlines. We started out with no guide, and while walking inside the hold city this young man came up to us and offered his services to show us around. He lived with in the old city, in the muslin part. Ace had dropped his camera when we were visiting the mount of olives and he told us his brother could fix it. Off we went to his house, met his family. His Dad told us he love us Americans but he hated our government. This young man took us all over Jerusalem but when we finally got to the Garden Tomb he did not come inside with us. Years later when we return to Isreal we met him again in the old city, but we were with a tour led by our pastor so we did not need a guide. Then we got to return years after that also went to Jorden and Egypt. I would go back tomorrow because as I have gained more knowledge of the history of Isreal it makes me want to return. I am not Jewish but my Savior was a Jew and that makes me part of that country in some respects. I hope you had a great Christmas and New Year. Thank you for following me, I am going over to your site.
