I cannot give you a formular for success, but I can give you the formular for failure, which is try to please everyone....
My winter project, a photograph of a shelf, was a labor of love, with intricate details and smaller decorative elements that added depth and character. While it may require a closer look to fully appreciate, I've noticed that people's perceptions of it vary greatly, influenced by their individual perspectives and emotional states. This experience has taught me the value of attention to detail and its impact on our understanding.
As I move forward, I'm excited to apply this lesson to my upcoming book on forgiveness, which I aim to complete by the end of the summer. I'm committed to staying focused and motivated, even when faced with self-doubt, and I'm eager to share my work with others.
Wise Hearted...
We will never please everyone all the time, so the best we should strive for is to please God each and every day. I love the shelf you created, Betty! Keep working on your book and know you have my prayers for success in your venture!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder Martha, I needed it today. I am not feeling well physically so I do feel a push to finish the book. God keep reminding me and I keep procrastinating. Blessings
DeleteOh, I LOVE the shelf! I love all the details of it! I have similar items on a cabinet here next to my desk, where I can look at it and move things around to suit my mood at the moment. Interesting how we big people tend to enjoy having something small to captivate our imaginations...at least I know I do. Not sure what that means psychologically or emotionally or even spiritually, but it helps me relax and refocus for a while when real life gets too difficult. Oh, a book on forgiveness sounds like a wonderful "project". I'm thinking that embarking on such a mission might be a lot like when we say we want to learn patience. God often gives us plenty of "opportunities" for learning patience first hand. Forgiveness is a lot like that too. When one attempts to write about it, many "opportunities" for need to forgive probably appear. Praying for you as you continue this mission. May God give you clarity and wisdom and strength...and motivation and courage. God is with you, and whatever He ordains is well worth doing! Let us know when it's ready!
ReplyDeletePamela, I do appreciate your comment on my post. The working with little things could just be a way for a big person to control...but I think its more than that, a need to be creative and I certainly could not build a full grown house. I always say I am not a crafting person. I tend to compare myself with those who sew, make quilts, etc. Our winters are long up here and I was going to do some embroidering but my hands are not doing well. Working on the houses for the shelf was totally relaxing for me and I felt such a deep down satisfaction after I finished the shelf. Two Christmas ago I gave each of the ladies a house and Christmas tree of wood and they went on and on about it so I had my first vision of the a shelf and it would not leave me.
DeleteI have been working on this book for about 15 years and am finally at the last chapter. It's a short book but I had to step aside from it quite a few times to deal with my emotions. But, at 79 I do feel the push to get it done for my family sake if nothing else. Glad to have a prayer partner concerning it, thank you. Your wisdom encourages me. Blessings.
